A new chapter in my life as well as our lives as a family has begun. We moved to NOOSA!

In early January, we packed up our things and moved north to tropical Noosa. 1.5 hours drive north of Brisbane in the Australian state of Queensland. We had really only just moved into our new home in Melbourne before deciding to make the move, a change in lifestyle, better weather and the opportunity to expand my fitness business to a face to face option as well as online arose.

Fast forward a month or so and here we are. Writing this to you from a humid, sometimes rainy Noosa. I know its been a while since I last made a post and It won’t happen again 😉 Turns out moving to a new state, and setting up a business is more time consuming than I thought- but here I am, back on track.

We already love Noosa, the people are awesome and the lifestyle is as we had hoped. The weather has being up and down, but it all comes with this time of the year. Everyone up here has been telling us how winter is their favourite time of the year- obviously something no Melbournian would EVER SAY. The summer months are known for more rain, hotter weather and crazy humidity, turns out we only just dodged a cyclone recently too, kinda happy about that! While it has rained a few bit in recent weeks, I don’t think the temperature has dropped below 27c once during the day, making the rain somewhat a non issue. On top of the fact the ocean temperature is hovering in the low 20’s it really hasn’t bothered us!

With that being said, we obviously spend a lot of time outdoors and I get to cruise around in my ideal outfit. Shorts… yep, thats about it, I think I’ve worn shoes only a handful of times since moving here and I LOVE IT!

The business is going well and slowly growing. Daily training sessions on the beach make for the best office I could ask for. There is something about working out, by the ocean as the sun comes up which is special and good for the soul! It’s allowed me to make friends quickly and really enjoy spending time and working with all the awesome people who come to my sessions, I’m super grateful for that!

Noosa and surrounding areas has so much beauty to be explored, from the beaches to the hinterland and everything in between. Amazing walks through the national park along rugged ocean begin at the end of our street. Harley is loving the environment and with the climate, gets to be at the beach and generally outdoors a-lot more. It is the perfect place for kids to grow up.

When it comes to my own training and personal fitness, being in Noosa is right up my alley. I love being outdoors and training by the beach and local parks, I love the hot humid weather we have had so far, while sometimes I have found a midday workout slightly too challenging, its all good fun! I feel like my fitness has gone up another level since being here, even if it’s only being a short time. Partly due to loving my training environment and having so many options to choose from, it’s hard to beat stair sprints through a forest or workouts under palm trees by the beach!

Check out what I’ve been up to and pretty much what an avaerage day looks like for us since moving to Noosa in this recent video I put on my YouTube Channel

Check out the video and let me know if you enjoy it. i am going to start putting up more vlog styles of video to really show off our beautiful new home that is Noosa.

Until next time 😉

( I won’t leave it a few months till my next post)

Matt

A week in my life at a fitness retreat. I’ve just wrapped up one of the best weeks ever. A week of fitness, fun, new friends, yoga, wakeboarding, surfing and partying! Another week with the worlds Number 1 fitness retreat company, Active Escapes was held in Noosa, Australia. I was the trainer for the 21 guests who came from all over the world to workout on the beautiful sunshine coast beaches and enjoy the fun times that Active Escapes offers.

This week is the perfect mix of training, fun and relaxation. Twice daily training sessions, sunset yoga, surf lessons and wakeboarding. All meals are cooked for us and we come home after a session it’s all ready to go.  The weather in Noosa was amazing, sun every day, warm waters and perfect sunsets. This is the third time I have been with Active Escapes and each trip gets better, the people are the best part about it- a big group of like-minded people who want to train hard and have fun. Its a big family for the week and that’s what makes it so unique.

SOLO TRAVELER?

I often get asked by people interested in doing an Active Escape about coming alone, doing the whole solo traveller thing. Most people do, do this alone. I think its great, I spent years travelling alone (not out of choice always) and you learn so much, it forces you to come out of your shell, to meet new people and experience new things that you may otherwise not do when surrounded by people who already know. It’s kinda crazy how a person can change when they aren’t afraid of being judged by someone who “knows” them. So if this has ever held you back, quit it, go and do it by yourself, what’s the worst can happen?

From my point of view, as the trainer for the week, it’s really rewarding to meet so many people from so many different walks of life. To hear stories and learn from them and hopefully return the favour to them- giving them a week of fitness fun which they enjoy and can take back home with them

The group spent each morning training on the beach and finishing with a swim. Afternoon sessions were done on a tennis court in our resort or in a park, the week puts a big emphasis on being outdoors and trying new things. We don’t even look at a gym, something I really enjoy. It gives the workouts more versatility and more team interaction, the workouts are all functional and can suit any fitness level so you don’t have to worry about what standard you are at, you’ll always get something out of it and be able to push yourself.

There really is something for everyone and that’s why I love the concept that Active Escapes have, what they provide to guests and trainers, both amazing expereinces and lifelong memories.

I recently went to Marbella, Spain with Wilda.

After seeing the place online countless times and Wilda having it on must-see list, we got to escape without Harley for some relaxation as well as a chance to catch up on a lot of work and get stuff done! Not always easy with a very energetic (almost) 2-year-old.

Marbella is Southern Spain, about 1 hour from Gibraltar and not much further to North Africa. It is by far one of the coolest places I have had the privilege of visiting. Amazing weather ( even in Autumn), nice beaches, clean streets, AMAZING RESTAURANTS and extremely friendly people. Palm trees line the beach and most streets, with some seriously sized houses scattered everywhere you go. I could see the slight Moroccan vibe with the terracotta houses and palm trees- it just made for an amazing cultural mix. Although Spain isn’t known for its excessive use of English, we found most people weren’t too bad and had no issues in getting around or finding what we needed.

We stayed 50m from the beach in the center of Marbella in a really nice, modern apartment from Air BnB. Close to everything we needed, cafes, bars, restaurants, and ice cream shops 😉 Puerto Banus was a 10-15 minute drive away which we checked out for dinner as well as getting in a workout and this unreal outdoor gym which had a full calisthenics set-up! I could definitely spend my training days there!

Childfree…

Although Harley didn’t come with up for this trip, it would probably have been the easiest place we have been to so far to have him come along for the fun! There were playgrounds everywhere, a huge car-free boardwalk that went for kilometers along the beach and kids clubs everywhere. It was definitely a child-friendly place- something I wouldn’t have even noticed a few years ago, but that’s how times change!

It is definitely a place we want to visit again and could even see us live there for some time of the year. harley would love it and we would both love the beautiful weather and health-obsessed beachside town. Thanks to a few friends we had there we got to explore other parts of Marbella, we even made a day trip out to Ronda- an amazing little town with a huge waterfall and bridge as a centerpiece. Not wanting to see the waterfall from a few hundred meters up, we hiked through hills, bush, HUGE rocks and water to get to the base of the water and swim in the naturally formed rock-pools. Such a highlight!

The break spent in Marbella was perfect, giving us a break, time to refresh, reset and find some more motivation going forward! If you are thinking about visiting Spain and in particular- Marbella, DO IT, you won’t be disappointed.

Visiting the Maldives has always been on my bucket list of destinations. I am very grateful to say I can now tick that off as I recently returned from paradise where I stayed on 135ft SUPER YACHT, as head fitness trainer for Active Escapes- taking a group of 20 guests through a week of fitness (twice daily sessions), yoga, snorkelling, surfing, diving and the most fun imaginable living on a luxury yacht cruising the water of the MALDIVES!

This was most definitely a dream job come true. Not only for the location and experience but for the people who come on these Active Escapes- like-minded, health conscious, fun loving individuals from all over the world! The week of training was centered around Bodyweight training- zero equipment workouts using the Bodyweight Built training methods. Workouts were done on beaches of different islands and even the top deck of our floating mansion, followed by sunset yoga.

Keeping fit and healthy on a holiday isn’t hard with Active Escapes, every activity is planned out for you, if you want to join, it’s there- if you would rather relax and give that particular session or activity a miss… no problem! Don’t get me wrong, it’s an active vacation, but there is also plenty of fun, drinks were flowing every night and everyone was socializing, after a day or two, it felt like you had known the person next to you for years not just a handful of hours!

That’s what makes Active Escapes the number 1 in fitness retreats! It’s not an army camp where you’re locked into doing things you don’t want, the 5 star services are there for you, all included, but you don’t have to attend if you don’t want- although I’ve never seen this happen as everything planned is not worth missing, but its the social aspect that stands out for most guests, having a few beers (or more than a few) each evening is encouraged rather than frowned upon like some retreats, after all its the people you meet and become friends with that make the week what it is!

If you have ever considered going on a vacation, to some of the most exotic places on the planet, without any stress, this is for you. The next retreat I am taking will be in Noosa, Australia- November 28th, 2018, join me there and see what it’s all about, you won’t be disappointed.

If you need some more proof of just how epic the week was and what to expect, then check out my YouTube video below;

Thailand has to be one of my most favorite countries to visit. I’m currently writing this from Stockholm, Sweden after a solid 28 hours of travel coming out of Phuket after spending almost 3 weeks in Thailand seeing some new parts of the country. This was my 8th trip back there and every time I go, I enjoy it more and more.

It was the first time being back since having our wedding there in 2016! It was also the first time we went on a bigger trip with Harley, who, now 19 months old, very much likes to voice his opinions which makes things very challenging. We chose to stay in an apartment in this awesome complex which had 2 pools in Rawai Beach, on the island of Phuket, having our own kitchen and separate rooms and living space with Harley made it a lot easier than having a hotel room and it was cheap! $60 Aud per night (low season helped this). Low season prices are often 50% cheaper than the high season which runs over the new year period and into March. Low season is just that because it also happens to be the wet season, we got extremely lucky though, as it only rained 3 times during the day and last no more than 2 hours each time…. the rest of the time it was pure sunshine, 30-degree heat and 90% humidity. If you’re looking to go to Thailand and do it on the cheap, I highly recommend going during the low season ( May-sep) if you’re not worried about some rainy days, as it makes a huge difference to accommodation and food costs!

Having never stayed in or being to Rawai Beach before it was great to be able to explore the North of the island. The beaches and jungle in this area were amazing, of course, I missed the Island life that Wilda and I have become accustomed too when in Thailand but this was a good change. I did, however, manage to visit my most favorite place in the world- Phi Phi Island, going there for 24 hours, just for old times sake..

Traveling through Thailand can be challenging when it comes to food and knowing what to eat if you’re wanting to stay in shape. Personally, I find it so easy to overeat with all the amazing foods and snacks available literally every 50 meters (7Elevens included). I try to track my macros as well as possible but of course, it’s not always possible to count calories when eating lots of meals out.

Check out the video below on my youtube for a full day of eating while in Thailand!

This gives you a little insight into my days of eating while I was there, obviously finding some cafes/restaurants that serve the food you’re after are key too, do a little google research and you’ll be good to go!

As for training while in Thailand, that’s the easy part, especially with Bodyweight Built

I would start each morning doing some hill sprints and some core workouts which would go for about 30 mins and then get into the strength work later in the day or evening. I loved training in the humidity, it was something I don’t often (I don’t think anyone does unless they live in SE Asia) gets to experience often!

I found a local fighting/training venue which had an awesome calisthenics set up and I was set! Apart from a few days of not training due to illness (I knew I shouldn’t have eaten from that place), I was training every day focusing on intense circuit/superset sessions.

I have another training video you can see below that I filmed while in Thailand.

All in all the trip was fantastic, a little more stressful than our last holidays now with Harley but unreal that he got to experience it all and absolutely loved it. I think he has an unparalleled love for the ocean and swimming, not waiting for clothes to come off first before bolting straight in!

I have a video of our trip which will be ready in the next week or so which I’ll be posting on my YouTube channel so don’t forget to subscribe HERE.

Now, I’m back in Stockholm, Sweden where I’ll be based for the next few months. Wilda, Harley and I have a few more adventures to share with you guys which I’ll share here, YouTube and Instagram.

Till next time,

Matt

My Week On a Fitness Retreat

I have heard a lot about fitness retreats in the past but up until just last week, I had never been on a fitness retreat.

Fast forward to now, after returning home from the paradise that is Noosa, on the Sunshine Coast in Australia, I can honestly say it was an amazing experience which I would recommend to anyone. I went up there with Active Escapes- the World’s Number 1 fitness retreat company that runs these amazing weeks all over the world, from Bali to Dubai, Phuket to Barbados, the Maldives to Australia and it was definitely more than expected.

Everything for the guest was included and once you got there, you didn’t have to think or worry about ANYTHING, it was planned down to a T with perfect professionalism and organization.

There were 2 training sessions a day taken by a fellow qualified PT, a sunset yoga session, surf lessons, wakeboarding, a day at the water park, a sunset boat cruise with food included and of course a nutritionist and chef making our every meal. Transportation to and from the airport was included as was to training sessions where we were picked up from our serviced apartments just a 5-minute walk from Noosa main beach.

The training sessions were awesome and would kick off at 630am on the beach- the group of 20 and all varying fitness levels would all workout together with a great team spirit, something I really enjoyed!

I went up there as a prospective trainer for future retreats with Active escapes and was told to simply enjoy myself as any other guest would. I came home so impressed with how well set up it was and all the work that goes into making it an unforgettable week that I have heaped praise on Active Escapes to anyone who would listen. If you are after a holiday where you meet awesome like-minded people, have fun, go on new adventures and workout- then you need to get yourself on with Active Escapes.

NEWS ALERT!

I have just been put on as a trainer with Active escapes for the upcoming MALDIVES RETREAT in July 2018. This will be something else! Spending 7 nights on a 125ft superyacht, training on different islands every day and practicing my (horrible) surfing on some of the clearest water on earth. I can’t wait to take a group of awesome people through a week of training in a location such as the Maldives.

Check out the video from our week in Noosa below to get a taste of it!

If you are interested in joining me and the Active escapes Team- check them out www.activeescapes.com or send me an email matt@mattcfox.com.

For years and years (at least 10) I tried daily to attain the body I always wanted in the gym, an image in my mind of what I wanted to look like and feel like. For me, my ideal body shape was to be athletic, fast, be able to run long distances at good speeds, be able to sprint at lightning pace and be fast on my feet, agile. I’ve previously made reference on my Instagram account @matttyf11 how I train to be multidimensional and functionally fit- Run faster, move better, jump higher, pull heavier, swim stronger and run for as long as I want is how I’ve put it in several posts.

This has never been truer since starting calisthenics and body weight training. All movements and exercises form functional fitness, as well as help, develop a full range of muscles and movements patterns all at once. The gym and weight lifting never got me to the image of my body I had in my mind. Calisthenics and body weight training did.

As part of showing you how I have made a huge body transformation in myself and countless others worldwide with my online coaching www.bodyweightbuilt.com through this blog and my Instagram page, I have now started a YouTube channel where I will post all training, routines, tips and general fitness/lifestyle stuff I have done to make this transformation and continue to improve and become better and better.

My latest video is now up on my channel and you can see it by CLICKING HERE, In this video, you will see a workout routine that Wilda, Alberto and myself while in Croatia. This was a full body workout incorporating short sprints into our circuit. You will also see the hill sprints we did each morning before breakfast and at the end of the video, Alberto does a short interview with Wilda and myself where Wilda discusses her post-pregnancy fat loss and fitness routine. The beauty about Bodyweight Built training is not only that it can be done anywhere, but that anyone can do it! From all fitness levels and lifestyle, Bodyweight Built will help you develop your overall functional fitness and help you shape the body you will be proud of.

Here is the latest video. PLEASE LIKE, COMMENT AND SHARE IF YOU FIND IT USEFUL, don’t forget to subscribe for new videos 🙂

It’s up and ready, my first video on YouTube!

I finally took the leap and entered the world that is Youtube. I have created this YouTube channel as another way of connecting and sharing my experiences of what has changed my life, in the hope that it will benefit others and reach an even greater audience.I hope that you can gain even more value out of these videos!

This channel will be a lot about my workouts and fitness routines all based on the Bodyweight Built method- no gym, weights or fancy equipment. Body weight and calisthenics style training has changed my life in more ways than one and I want to show you how it can change yours too.

I will also be making videos on everything health and fitness related from what I eat to recovery tips and injury prevention. My first video which you can check out by CLICKING HERE is an intro of who I am and a recap of my recent trip through Europe with the family and keeping fit while traveling with calisthenics that you can do anywhere!

As you probably know by now, I don’t use a gym or lift weights anymore- I stopped seeing results and was stuck in a plateau that lasted years, it wasn’t until I finally took the courage and backed myself, my knowledge and my experience to leave the gym and start with body weight training that the plateau was SMASHED and results came instantly.

I’m not saying gym and weights don’t get results, they do- but not for everyone, I’m even going to say, not for the majority of people! So if you’re not satisfied with where you are right now, check out my YouTube channel and subscribe so you can be kept up to date with my new videos and start doing some of the workouts I’m going to show you which will help you smash your own plateaus and see results. You can subscribe by CLICKING HERE

Here is my first video, shoot me back an email and let me know what you think!

Exercise and eating when Traveling in Italy

Monterosso, Cinque Terra.

Our first child free day(s) since Harley…Having visited the Cinque Terra area briefly in 2007 for my then sporting career, it was a place I had always wanted to get back to and enjoy as a tourist. That happened recently as I went back there for 5 days of total relaxation and baby free peace.

Flying from Stockholm into Pisa and getting the train to Monterosso was surprisingly easier than I remember Italian travel been- great result! This was to be the first time Wilda and I had not been with Harley for all of his 9 months, we have never been without him for longer than 4-5 hours previously! Harley stayed Stockholm with his grandparents while we got to enjoy some lazy days by the beautiful beaches.

If you love your meats and easily accessible protein, Italy (well definitely Monterosso and surrounding areas) doesn’t make it easy for you. Everything is pastries, bread, and pasta. As delicious as they are, I can’t survive on focaccia and thin pizza for my every meal! The hotel was taunting me, leaving all of the breakfasts un eaten fresh croissants in a huge bowl next to my door every day,  I confess I ate at least 50 for the trip, yes, FIVE- ZERO. But, protein…. How did I survive?

For one thing, I wasn’t as active as I normally would be and 5 days wasn’t going to kill me so:

  1. I used IM (Intermittent fasting, which I have written a blog post about previously and you can see here)
  2. I loaded up on the boiled eggs at breakfast and snacked on them during the day
  3. I found the only semi-easy “quick” protein fix available- lightly fried calamari to snack on often. I say quickly because if you know Italy, nothing happens quickly, quickly was 20 mins!
  4. My protein intake would have been slightly lower than normal, but for 5 days, I wasn’t too worried.

EXERCISE.

Each morning Wilda and I would do a short Bodyweight Built HIIT circuit which would combine full body strength and cardio into one 30 minute session, the views for our morning workout spot were something you don’t often get to experience so the pain from the sessions was easily numbed!

We also did the hike from Monterosso to Venezza which is a beautifully scenic, steep, cliff-hugging walk that takes about 1.5 hours one way. The trekking path is pretty rugged and has some very steep stair climbs so it was definitely a workout! Spending an hour swimming in the beautiful little town of Venezza we set off on the return journey back to Monterosso.  It was the type of exercise where you know you’re exercising but the views and surroundings are so beautiful you don’t even think about the workout! I highly recommend doing it, just make sure you set off with some cash, its 7 euros per person for the return trip (you enter a national park, apparently)

I didn’t find any outdoor gyms but I did find a children’s swing set by the beach that I used for a few afternoon sessions of pull ups, chin ups and muscle ups in between getting yelled at by a grumpy Italian grandma for the possible chance of me “breaking” it, Don’t know how she thought I would break a 10 inch thick steel bar but maybe it was a compliment? 😉 I also found a reasonably steep hill where we did some hill sprints at, now I know I said I wasn’t as active as normal and I have probably made it sound like we did nothing but exercise and go on hikes, but the workouts were short and if I am going to be completely honest with you guys, not always at 100% intensity (we all do it sometimes). I swear the rest of the day was lying by the beach, not my favorite thing as I get bored and need to move, but it was a good chance to relax, read a book and listen to some cool podcasts.

I did treat myself to pizza, pasta and their famous red wine each night, oh, and ice cream too of course- lots of it! I wanted to enjoy myself and the different foods and really experience this opportunity, it’s not always about restricting yourself and not allowing yourself to eat what you want to eat, life and especially holidays are meant to be enjoyed. I managed to do this all without piling on the fat by training smart and planning ahead. Having a plan with anything sets you up for success and for all to (hopefully) run smoothly. The pizza and pasta were nice, but nothing amazingly special. Melbourne does have a huge Italian population so maybe I have been lucky with growing up and getting used to brilliant Italian food. The ice cream, however, was AMAZING! I don’t think I had a night where I didn’t go back twice, that’s something they did very well- and at less than half the price that it would cost in Australia, I had to eat a lot right?

Five days, like all holidays they flew by. The Cinque Terra region (translates to the 5 lands) is made up of 5 villages that hug steep cliff faces and are famous for their color homes that hang down the cliff edges almost right down to meet the water. I would highly recommend seeing this amazing region if the chance ever came by, don’t forget to pre plan your dieting habits and load up on protein haha!

Back to Stockholm to get in some solid training sessions and work off those croissants! One of the most important bits of advice that I can give you when it comes to enjoying yourself on holiday is to do just that- enjoy it! Eat some nice foods, experience different cultures and don’t get down on yourself for eating things you normally wouldn’t eat, if it’s not forever, don’t stress. I don’t regret indulging in Italy, I know what needs to be done to get into the shape I want to be in because I have a plan, and as I previously mentioned….. It all comes down to having a plan, do that and you can’t fail!

Croatia – Island Life

Jumping off the 2.5-hour flight from Stockholm to Croatia into the beautiful blue skies and the 35-degree weather was happiness! We were lucky enough to come here last year, just Wilda and I, while Harley was still in the stomach, this was to be different again now that he’s out in the world and an insanely active 9-month-old with plenty of his own opinions! None the less we couldn’t wait to get back to this place we fell in love with.

Travelling with an infant has its challenges that’s for sure! Our luggage increased a huge amount, I can’t get over how such a little person requires so much stuff! Wilda’s parents met us at the airport and drove us to the beautiful seaside town of Punat, where they own an apartment- 200 meters from amazing turquoise water and only 100m from one of the best outdoor gym’s I’ve been too (shocked face). After 4 days of broken up travel, it finally felt like holiday mode. The food in Croatia is some of my favorite, fresh seafood, and amazing tasting meats- safe to say I would order my standard meat platter every night for dinner, maybe pancakes and ice creams for dessert…..nightly! (can’t help myself)

Everywhere you walk around this little town, ice cream vendors are, there is no escaping the amazing tastes of countless flavors!

I knew I was going to enjoy myself with the food and desserts here, food is and always has been a weak area for me- I love it so much I don’t really have an off button when it comes to eating…. Those who know me actually refer to me as a Labrador (slightly embarrassing to admit publicly, but the truth none the less) But hey, everyone is like that on holiday right? I mean you go away to unwind from your normal day to day life and treat yourself to sleep ins and ultimately food, holiday mode doesn’t have to be the time to completely let yourself go, In saying that, I have found you can still enjoy all the food and drink you want to, if you allow for it in your daily activities.

My tips for eating what you want and enjoying yourself, but keeping off the fat are:

1. Instead of lying on the beach and having the occasional quick dip to cool down, I would make it a goal to swim (500m to 1km) twice a day, yes this was exercise but swimming in the beautiful waters and watching the fish made it seem more like a privilege than a chore, it also burns calories and give you a great full body workout, you don’t need to swim like Phelps either but get out there and put that extra energy from the ice cream to good use.

2. The island was full of fig trees and amazing fruits, we snacked on these and made it our aim to get up every morning and go for a workout (if you follow me on Instagram you would have seen my workout spam 😉 ) and finish that off by walking around picking fresh figs, a sweet, candy alternative!

3. Walk as much as you can! This is obviously not always possible depending on where you holiday, but it can still be done! We walked down to the beach and super market every day instead of driving, not only does this make you exercise without really thinking about it, you see more of your destination and if you don’t have a car, you’re saving money on transportation to- 3 ticks!

4. I have written a full post about this previously, but probably my biggest tip is using IM (intermittent fasting) while on holidays- hang with me here… I know you are probably thinking I just said you can eat what you want and now you’re reading the word “fasting” but this is how you can do it. The least favored meal of the day for me while away is breakfast, I sleep in more, eat dinner later, so I’m not as hungry as I normally would be. Given that, I typically don’t eat until midday-1pm as I know I really want to pig out in the afternoon and especially at dinner! Using this method allows me to have fun and eat big dinners, maybe a few beers and socialize over dinner without having to be that anti-social guy in the corner weighing his food or knocking back a slice of bread- LIVE A LITTLE!

Punat-I love it here, everything is so peaceful, it’s a town for families to unwind, no yacht week or crazy day parties here – Punat is on the island of Krk and is more well known for its olive picking and lazy days by the beach more than anything else! I knew it already after visiting Phi Phi Island many times, but island life is for me. The family goals are to live on an island (we have a few in mind) for at least 4 months a year! The people are friendlier, everything is easy and people aren’t stressed- no tooting horns or road rage, just flashing smiles and greetings- the way life should be.

Those holiday workouts…

For Wilda and I, working out together and exercising is part of our lives, this probably increases even more while in holiday mode, rather than lazy days not doing much, we have been getting up (mainly thanks for Harley) at 530am then off to do our morning routine of hill sprints and then some type of strength training- a great way to start the day before heading home to get ready for the beach. It’s also nice to get some alone time with Wilda, even if we are both gasping for air and red in the face!

Harley’s first real dose of hot weather and some beach action has been heaps of fun, he loves the water and as long as he’s moving and keeping entertained, has been so well behaved. Wilda and I only have ourselves to thank for the fact Harley literally can’t sit still- which always calls for activity filled days! Thank god for the help of Wilda’s parents and Wilda herself being so amazing with Harley! Harley doesn’t sit still for a second (not an exaggeration, I promise) that I’m exhausted after 30 mins with him! Mum’s, I don’t know how they do it…. Hat’s off to you all!

Seven days in amazing Punat and I am genuinely sad to leave, something about the place and the love for island lifestyle inside of me really draws me to these places and I find it pretty depressing to leave. I can’t wait to be back next year for a longer period of time.

If you’re ever in this amazing country that is Croatia, do yourself a favor and stop by the island of Krk, spend some time in the picture perfect coastal towns scattered all around and enjoy the people and wonderful food.

Now it’s off to spend some time in Stockholm and catch up with friends and family we have there- another beautiful city I’m grateful to experience.

Until next time beautiful Croatia…..
